THE SAILING VESSEL R ESCAPE
Her name is R Escape and she is our beautiful 2006 Catalina 387 sloop rigged mono-hull sailing yacht. Built at the Catalina Yachts factory in Largo, Florida she is hull #88 of roughly 155. She was commissioned in October of 2005 in Marina del Rey, CA. The Captain & 1st Mate found her in late 2007 unloved, neglected and luckily for sale. We "adopted" her and brought her to Channel Islands Harbor in January 2008.
Just shy of 40' in length and a bit over 12' in her beam, her mast stands 56' off the water and her 6,800 lb. fin keel draws just over 7 feet. She's not exactly "petite" as she tips the travel-lift scales a tad over 23,000 lbs.! She's not a race boat but she holds her own versus comparable coastal cruisers. Theoretical hull speed is slightly over 7.6 knots but we've been known to get her surfing well over that when the weather gets sporty!
If it's not apparent by now we really love her and we just can't wait to show her off to you!

THE 1st MATE
Without 1st Mate Michelle (aka the Admiral) we can honestly say Sail 805 would figuratively run aground! Besides being the driving force behind the scenes, Michelle has completed ASA 101, 103, 104 & 105 along with CPR & First Aid certifications from the American Red Cross. The Captain may helm and command the boat but Michelle RUNS the boat and she always makes it her mission to insure all of our guests are safe, comfortable & happy!
Making Special Occasions "Extra Special" is Michelle's . . .specialty!
